Buckie Shipyard - The Staff

Our company possesses a skilled workforce of 56 who are project focussed and comprise aluminium and steelworkers, welders, joiners, carpenters, painters, plumbers, mechanical engineers and electricians. Integrated project work teams are dedicated to specific customer vessels thus ensuring continuity and a high level of quality.

Our in-house capabilities can be supplemented by a number of specialist services using local and national subcontractors covering all aspects of marine engineering, electrics/electronics and naval architecture.

 

Current Job Vacancies at Buckie Shipyard - June 2010

Shipyard trained and marine experienced personnel are urgently required for temporary and permanent positions, immediate starts available for the right people willing to join a dynamic and growing business.

MARINE ENGINEERS
Experienced marine engineers for work on RNLI lifeboats, newbuilding windfarm service vessels, fishing boats, small coasters, tugs & workboats. Previous marine experience or highly relevant transferrable skills essential.

BOATBUILDERS / OUTFITTERS
Lifeboat refits, ARRC vessel refits, outfitting of our newbuild aluminium catamarans and other vessels, various interesting projects. Experienced marine joiners with recent experience of quality outfitting of yachts or commercial boats to high standards.

ALUMINIUM WELDERS
Experienced qualified aluminium welders for fabrication of aluminium vessels. Must have recent experience in marine aluminium fabrication and boatbuilding. Must be capable of working with minimum supervision to high standards and weld specifications. the quality of welding and finish on these vessels is imperative.

TRAINEES
We are about to take another intake of Trainees. Trials of 4 weeks duration for those aged 16 and over who would like to see if working with us and learning on the job across all trades would suit them. Positions will be available to those who successfully complete the trial and prove that they have the work ethic, are enthusiastic and willing to work. These are minimum wage positions initially.

Immediate start for the right calibre of staff with the work ethic that we need.
